Big Sandy Bay, Wolfe Island, is a new club hike and only a short drive, with a free ferry ride, perhaps through ice. It is a one km. hike from the parking lot to the beach, and the beach is 3 km. long. There are sand dunes and neat ice formations along the shore. The Snowy Owl population is low at the moment, but there is usually a few sightings. An immature Bald Eagle flew overhead a week ago.
This 8km hike is suitable for all, no special equipment is needed. Call Steve at 613-542-1054 or email at email@example.com.
